Robert "Rob" John Post

Robert “Rob” John Post, son of the late Robert Lee and Ella Mae (Connors) Post, was born May 13, 1954 in Pleasanton, Kansas. Due to his stepfather being in the military, Rob and the family moved several times during his growing up years. Rob enlisted in the United States Army in 1975. He served his country faithfully until his discharge in 1980 and had attained the rank of Sergeant. On May 25, 1975, Rob was united in marriage to Beverly Lynn Hable in Waynesville, Missouri. They shared over 38 years of marriage together and two children: Christopher Michael and Jennifer Lynn. After being discharged from the military, Rob began working civil service on Fort Leonard Wood and in 2009, he and Beverly started Post Realty. Even though he was not originally from the Waynesville area, he had a love for the area and enjoyed helping people any way that he could. In his spare time, Rob enjoyed being outdoors and passed that loved down to his son, grandson and nephew. Rob was an avid supporter of the National Rifle Association. With his free spirit, he enjoyed traveling to all areas and was never on a time schedule when seeing the sights. He was always on a journey and had a wonderful life. Rob had a sense of humor and even in his illness, he never stopped and never let the illness dampen his spirit of life. He loved family functions, and especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. Rob passed away at 11:50 a.m. Wednesday, January 29, 2014 in the Harry S Truman Memorial Veterans’ Hospital of Columbia, Missouri having attained the age of 59 years, 8 months and 16 days. He will be dearly missed by all those that knew and loved him. Rob leaves to cherish his memory his wife: Beverly Post of the home; two children: Christopher Michael Post (Callie) of Marshall, MO and Jennifer Lynn Post-Burton (Anthony) of Richland, MO; nine grandchildren; three great grandchildren; four siblings: Sharon Hester (Jim) of Waynesville, MO, John Connors (Juanita) of Dixon, MO, Jackie Edgar (Kenny) of Edgar Springs, MO and Cathy Kulick of Waynesville, MO; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Services with military honors were held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, February 1, 2014 in the Memorial Chapels and Crematory of Waynesville / St. Robert with Rev. David Brown officiating. The song “You’ll Accomp’ny Me” by Bob Seger was played. Military honors were provided by the Missouri Honors Team.
