Robert Allen Perry

Robert Allen Perry, son of the late Lester and Hortence Perry, was born January 7, 1941 in Oakfield, Wisconsin where he grew up and attended school. In 1959, Robert enlisted in the United States Army and served his country faithfully until his retirement in 1979 after 20 years of service. He had attained the rank of Sergeant First Class. For his service, Robert earned several awards; some of which include: National Defense Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, Good Conduct Medal (6th Award), Mechanic Badge with Bar, Meritorious Service Medal, Expeditionary Qualification Badge M16, Vietnam Service Medal w/3 Bronze Service Stars, Meritorious Unit Commendation, and several other awards. In October 1962, Robert was united in marriage to Erika Briesach in Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri. They shared over 46 years of marriage together and were blessed with one daughter: Roswitha. Robert and Erika were members of the Crocker Assembly of God Church and attended every time they could. Robert went home to be with his Lord at 6:28 P.M. Sunday, May 3, 2009 in the General Leonard Wood Army Community Hospital of Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri at the age of 68 years. Robert will be sadly missed, but fondly remembered by his wife Erika of the home; one daughter: Roswitha Gonzalez and her husband Jimmy of the state of Florida; two brothers: David and Philip Perry, both of the state of Wisconsin; three grandchildren: Sylvia Moore, Regina Collvbert and Erika Gonzalez; five great grandchildren: David, Tyra, Jasmine, Israel and Elijah; father of Sylvia and Regina: Julio Suisala; other relatives and friends. Funeral services were held at 10:00 A.M Friday, May 8, 2009 in the Memorial Chapels and Crematory with Rev. Robert Eugene Hudson officiating. Soloist Becky Lercher sang “Precious Memories”. Several family members recalled their wonderful memories of Robert. Serving as escorts were the United States Army. Burial with military honors followed in the Sunset Memorial Estates Cemetery. Military honors were provided by the United States Army of Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri. Services were under the direction of Memorial Chapels and Crematory. Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Robert Perry and may be left at Memorial Chapels and Crematory.
