Ronnie Lee Henson

Ronald Lee Henson, son of the late John B. and Geraldine (Shelton) Henson, was born November 14, 1950 in Crocker, Missouri, and passed away November 30, 2017, surrounded by his family in Richland, Missouri, having attained the age of 67 years. Ronnie made a profession of faith in Christ and followed in baptism. He later attended Beulah Baptist Church of Richland, Missouri. He was a graduate of Stoutland High School in 1968. After graduation Ronnie entered into the United States Navy proudly serving his country until his honorable discharge. Ronnie was united in marriage to Leah Ann Patton on October 5, 1990 in Richland, Missouri. They shared eight children between them, Ashley, Craig, Andrew, Adam, Joe, Gib, Richard and Spencer. There was a lot of joy in the Henson household, and even some sorrow down through the years however, Ronnie took it all in stride and never lost that smile of his. Ronnie worked as a line man, a truck driver for Charlie Webster and a ranch foreman for Circle F Cattle Company in Stoutland and later as a ranch hand for O’Brien Farms. He greatly enjoyed breaking and riding horses. He loved life and never met a stranger. If Ronnie didn’t know you, before long you’d both feel like you had known one another your entire lives; he was that kind of guy, always joking around. Ronnie just wanted to enjoy the simple things in life; watching a good western, a cold beer, a good horse and a long trail ride. However his most prized processions were his friends and family, especially his grandkids who brought fun and excitement into his life. Ronnie was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, his beloved son, Spencer Lee Henson (August 22, 2015), brother, Danny L. “Bodie” Henson, brother-in-law, Wayne Crosby and his father-in-law, Larry Patton. He leaves behind to cherish his memory wife, Leah Ann Henson of their home, their children Ashley Newell (James) of Richland, MO, Craig Henson (Angie) of Pleasant Hope, MO, Andrew Douglas (Becky) of Stoutland, MO, Adam Douglas of Richland, MO, Joe Henson (Caitlin) of Crocker, MO and Gib Henson (Paige) of Branson, MO and Richard Henson of Stoutland, MO; 8 grandchildren, Wyatt, Ma’Kennan, Jocelynn, Blake, London, Kynlee, Ruby and Keeton; one brother, Gary Henson (Kathy) of Stoutland, MO; two sisters, Debra Crosby of Richland, MO and Janet Lawrence (Robert) of Stoutland, MO; his mother-in-law, Cheryl Patton of Stoutland, MO; his sister-in-law, Lisa Jones of Stoutland, MO; several nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. With the care and support of his loving family Ronnie fought long and hard fighting cancer, never complaining and never letting it get him down. So today we celebrate Ronnie and his courage and like the song says...Go rest high on that mountain because your work here is done. Services were held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, December 5, 2017 in the Beulah Baptist Church of Richland with Pastor Jimmy Moore and Pastor Rick Morrow officiating. Music selections included Dancing in the Sky, Bluebonnie and Once and Awhile. Serving as escorts were Craig Henson, Joe Henson, Gib Henson, Andrew Douglas, Adam Douglas and William Conrad. Honorary escorts were Lane Karr, Cale Karr, Shannon Fisher, Ray Knotts, Richard Steward, James Newell, Randy Gregory and Officer Matt Cordoves. Burial followed in the Stoutland Cemetery, Stoutland, Missouri. Services were under the direction of Memorial Chapel of Richland. Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Ronnie Lee Henson and may be left at the Memorial Chapel of Richland.
