Roy Lynn Alexander

Roy Lynn Alexander, son of the late Noah Arthur Alexander and Esther Marie (Oliver) Alexander, was born May 19, 1958 in Waynesville, Missouri. During his school years, Roy attended Richland elementary, later graduating from Richland High School in 1976. He accepted Christ at an early age. Roy was smitten with a pretty young gal in 1979. Little did Roy know he’d marry Janice Iline Wilson on May 16, 1987, in Richland, Missouri. They shared over 36 years of good times with love, laughter, and a few tears, together along their journey. Roy and Janice were blessed on December 8, 1987, with their precious daughter, Amanda Lynn, the couples pride and joy. Roy was a hardworking man and took considerable pride in providing for his family. He worked for over 43 years for Playcraft Pontoon/Richland Diversified in Richland, Missouri in assembly putting in outboard and inboard motors; earning his position as an Assembly Crew Leader. When Roy wasn’t working, he enjoyed being outdoors fishing, and hunting. Roy also loved playing drums with his brother-in-law, Richard Broeckelman. They would play music, sing, drink a few cold ones while spending time together with family and friends. Roy passed away while in Linn Creek, Missouri on the morning of Monday, January 1, 2024, having attained the age of 65 years, surrounded by the family he loved. In addition to his parents and beloved daughter, Amanda Lynn Alexander (3/7/1990), Roy was preceded in death by four sisters, Wanda Vogeli, Evelyn Alexander, Patsy Ogle, and Betty Robinson. He leaves to cherish his memory, his devoted wife, Janice of the home; one sister, Mary Lou Broeckelman of Stoutland, MO; three brothers: Arthur Alexander of Richland, MO, James Alexander (Freida) of Lebanon, MO, and Johnny Alexander (Marsha) of Richland, MO; a special niece and nephew, Katherine, and Noah Alexander; several nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends. Roy enjoy life and the people in it. He believed in having a fun time with whoever and wherever he went. Roy will forever be sadly missed, but fondly remembered by all those who knew and loved him. Services were held at 1:00 p.m., Friday, January 12, 2024, in the Memorial Chapel of Richland. Pastor Billy Williams officiated. Recorded music “Stairway to Heaven,” “Dust In the Wind,” Mama Tried,” and “Go Rest High On that Mountain.” Serving as escorts included Jamie Alexander, Austin Alexander, David Miller, Al Fitzwater, Chad Alexander, Chuck Inman, Harold Needs, and Mike Lewis. Burial followed in the Wair-Dowty Chapple Cemetery of Richland, Missouri. Services were under the care and direction of Memorial Chapel of Richland. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested in memory of Roy Lynn Alexander and may be left at the Memorial Chapel of Richland.
