SGT Joshua Louis Kline

SGT Joshua Louis Kline, son of Jeffrey Louis Kline and Karen S. (Winkler) Kline, was born December 13, 1984 in Cincinnati, Ohio. As a young boy, Joshua and the family moved to the Waynesville, Missouri area and he graduated from Waynesville High School. After graduation, he attended Ozarks Technical College in Springfield, Missouri. He then enlisted in the United States Army in January 2007 and attended Community College of the Air Force. While in the Army, Joshua worked as a Biomedical Equipment Specialist and as a Supervisor of Communications for Research. He earned several awards and commendations while in the military. In his spare time, Joshua enjoyed collecting comic books and action figures, playing video games, listening to music and watching movies. He had just begun learning to play the guitar. Most importantly, he loved spending time with his family and friends, especially his two sons: Seth and Dillon. Joshua passed away May 5, 2012 at Fort Hood, Texas having attained the age of twenty-seven years. Joshua is survived by his two son: Seth A. and Dillon L. Kline of St. Robert, MO; father and step-mother: Jeffrey and Verna Kline of St. Robert, MO; maternal grandparents: Richard and Rose Winkler of Dayton, OH; sister: Cassandra L. Kline of Williamsburg, VA; one step-sister: Erika Garcille of Rolla, MO; two step-brothers: James Russell Ervin of St. Robert, MO and Nicholas R. Riley of Chickasha, OK; two nieces; one nephew; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Joshua was preceded in death by his mother, Karen S. Kline and paternal grandparents, David and Barbara Kline. Services were held at 12:00 Noon, Saturday, May 19, 2012 in the Memorial Chapels and Crematory of Waynesville / St. Robert with Chaplain (MAJ) Michael Henderson officiating. Some of Joshua’s family: his father, Jeff Kline; his sister, Cassandra Kline; his stepbrother, James Russell Ervin; and his stepsister, Erika Garcille; all recalled their wonderful memories of Joshua. The songs “I’m Already There”, “Simple Man”, “Tears in Heaven”, “You’re Gone”, “Life Ain’t Always Beautiful”, “I Will Remember You”, “You Raise Me Up” and “Don’t Cry for Me” were played. Flags were presented to Joshua’s two sons, his father and his sister. Presentations of the flags were provided by the United States Army of Fort Leonard Wood. Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Joshua Kline and may be left at the funeral home.
