Sharon Lee Wilkins

Sharon Lee Wilkins, daughter of the late John Michael and Eleanor Louise (Schott) Robards, was born November 12, 1953 in Louisville, Kentucky. She passed away Monday, June 19, 2017 in her home having attained the age of 63 years. Sharon grew up in Louisville, Kentucky and attended St. Elizabeth Catholic School and Ahrens Trade High School. Sharon was united in marriage to Melvin P. Wilkins, Jr. and two families were joined. They shared seven children between the two of them: James, Patty, Donna, Krystal, Amanda, Perri Jo and Gregory. Sharon was a hardworking woman and took great pride in helping to provide for her family. She worked as a housekeeping supervisor at Life Care Center of Waynesville for 5 years; Bayou Bill’s of Lake Ozark, Missouri as head cook; and St. Mary’s Institute of O’Fallon, Missouri as dietary cook for the nuns. She loved her job at St. Mary’s just being with the sisters of precious blood. In her spare time, Sharon enjoyed going to flea markets and auctions, hanging out with friends and drinking coffee. She loved anything Elvis and liked to work on her family ancestry. She was known by her family and friends as an amazing cook and baker. She was also active in the Louisville community as a softball and baseball coach for the Boys and Girls Clubs of Louisville. Sharon will be sadly missed, but fondly remembered by all those that knew and loved her. She leaves to cherish her memory, her husband: Melvin Wilkins of Newburg, MO; five children: James Rosenauer of St. Robert, MO, Patty Rosenauer of Spring Creek, NV, Donna Summers of Newburg, MO, Amanda Woodson of St. Robert, MO and Krystal Neal of Fort Wainwright, AK; two stepchildren: Perri Jo Wilkins and Gregory L. Wilkins; two brothers: Michael Robards and William “Billy” Robards, both of Louisville, KY; one sister: Vicki Lucy Robards of Louisville, KY; 29 grandchildren; 39 great grandchildren; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents, Sharon was preceded in death by one sister: Patricia Lynn Robards; and one brother: Stephen Allen Robards. Services will be held at 12:00 p.m. Saturday, June 24, 2017 at the family's residence in Newburg, Missouri. Arrangements are under the direction of Memorial Chapels and Crematory of Waynesville / St. Robert.
