Sherry Mae Sundell

Sherry Mae (York) Sundell, 63 of Lake Ozark, MO, formerly of Waynesville, MO, passed away Sunday, March 15, 2026, in the Phelps Health Hospital of Rolla, MO. Sherry attended Laquey School District. She married her high school sweetheart, Mark Sundell, on prom night, and graduated with the class of 1980. Sherry was a career driven woman managing the local Dairy Queen, Pizza Hut, and traveling as a corporate trainer. She used her skills as a manager to raise a fast-paced family with the addition of her children Justin, Kara, and Tyler before becoming the face of Action Automotive where she shared her wealth of automotive knowledge with the community. Throughout her life, Sherry cultivated many skills becoming a great hostess, treasured family culinary expert and baker, servant to the community through charity, and becoming a Pulaksi County Master Gardener. One of her favorite roles in life was being a grandmother to Rylee and Kayden. She could be found tanning by a body of water, sharing about her travels, or searching the Scrabble dictionary. After the passing of her husband, Mark, Sherry relocated to live her life Lake Side where she made many friends that were considered family. In retirement, she traveled the world and appreciated its beauty with those she loved. This chapter of her life was lived to the fullest with experiences that made for many great stories. Sherry is survived by three children: Justin Sundell (Brenda Stratton) of Republic, MO, Kara Sundell of St. Robert, MO and Tyler Sundell (Katie Clark) of Overland Park, KS; two grandchildren: Rylee Sundell and Kayden Sundell; special friend: Dexter Fountain; and many other beloved family and friends. Services were held at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, March 19, 2026 in the Memorial Chapels and Crematory of Waynesville / St. Robert with Pastor Mark Tallant officiating. The songs "What an Awesome God" by Phil Wickam and "Believe For It" by CeCe Winans were played. Services were under the care and direction of Memorial Chapels and Crematory of Waynesville / St. Robert. Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Sherry Sundell to the Waynesville R-VI School District Lunch Buddy Program and may be left at Memorial Chapels and Crematory of Waynesville/St. Robert.
