Simone Rivera

Simone Rivera, daughter of the late Edmund and Maria (Friedrich) Borges, was born December 4, 1969 in Rodalben, Germany. She grew up in Pirmansens, Germany and went to school in Kirchberg, Germany. On February 12, 1993, Simone was united in marriage to Jose Alberto Rivera in Pirmasens, Germany. They shared over 17 years of marriage together and were blessed with three children: Felicia, Brandon and Ashley. After moving to the Fort Leonard Wood area, Simone began working in Army lodging as a housekeeper and served as a temporary supervisor and training work leader. She was a very hard worker and took pride in a job well done. In her spare time, Simone loved to paint her garden gnomes and taking care of her garden. She would spend many hours on Facebook playing Farmville and taking care of her crops. Most importantly, she treasured those times that she spent with her family and friends, especially her children. Simone passed away at 4:45 am, Tuesday, November 16, 2010 in her home after a courageous battle with cancer at the age of 40 years, 9 months and 12 days. She will be sadly missed by all those that knew and loved her. Simone leaves to cherish her memory her husband: Jose Rivera of the home; three children: Felicia, Brandon, and Ashley Rivera all of the home; six sisters: Ulla Pauslen of Germany, Angela Darke of the state of Nebraska, Sophie Cox of the state of Indiana, Monika Borges of Germany, Karla Love of the state of Arizona and Petra Weiss of Germany; three brothers: Richard, Wolfgang, and Urve Borges all of Germany; several nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, November 19, 2010 in the Memorial Chapels and Crematory of Waynesville/St. Robert with Rev. Christopher Hendrix officiating. The songs “Wish I Were An Angel”, “I Will Always Love You” and “Momma” were played. Serving as escorts were Jose Rivera, Brandon Rivera, Sophie Cox, Carlos Rivera, Daniel Cook and Keith Campbell. Burial followed in the Sunset Memorial Estates Cemetery. Services were under the direction of Memorial Chapels and Crematory of Waynesville/St. Robert. Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Simone Rivera to the American Cancer Society and Breast Cancer Research and may be left at the funeral home.
