Taylor Dawn (Smith) Dunn

Taylor Dawn Dunn, beloved daughter of Paula Winsted and Chad Smith, was born August 26, 1995, in Tahlequah, Oklahoma. From the time she was a little girl growing up in Evansville, Arkansas, Taylor brought energy, laughter, and a bright spirit to those around her. She attended Lincoln High School in Lincoln, Arkansas, where the roots of her outgoing and adventurous nature continued to grow. On May 3, 2024, Taylor married the love of her life, Daniel Jason Dunn, in Webster County, Missouri. Their marriage was a cherished part of her life and reflected the deep love she had for her family and home. Taylor was vibrant, energetic, and full of life. She loved being outdoors, whether she was hunting—especially turkey hunting—fishing, back roading while looking for wildlife, or playing softball. She had a way of turning simple moments into memories, and those who knew her will smile remembering that no one could leave her house without playing at least one game of cards. Taylor lived life with her whole heart. She loved deeply, laughed often, and treasured time spent with her friends and family. Taylor departed this life on Sunday, June 28, 2026, having attained the age of 30, at her home in Laquey, Missouri, surrounded by the comforting love of her family. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Janie “Nana” and Jim “Papa” Watkins, Debbie and Bobby Slagle, and her nephew, Brantley Davis. Taylor leaves behind a loving family who will forever carry her memory in their hearts, including her husband, Daniel Dunn; her children, Braxton and Colton Wiles, Karlee Dunn, and Lane Dunn of Laquey, MO; her mother and husband, Paula and Rodney Winsted of Evansville, AR; her father and wife, Chad and Karen Smith of Stilwell, OK; her siblings, Brooke and husband Carroll Davis of Stilwell, OK, Rebecca and husband Tristan Philpot of Stilwell, OK, Ally and husband Darrel Dugger of Stilwell, OK, and Reagan Smith of Stilwell, OK; her sister-in-love, Kayla and husband Joseph Weelborg of Laquey, MO; ten nieces and nephews, Maci, Camberlyn, and Lydia Davis, Quade, Quinn, and Palmer Philpot, Dutton and Ranger Dugger, and Jayden and Joseph Jr. Weelborg; her father-in-law and wife, Craig and Cindy Dunn of Marshfield, MO; her mother-in-law and husband, Renee and David Nelsen of Laquey, MO; along with countless family members and friends who loved her dearly. Though Taylor is no longer with us in sight, the love she gave, the joy she shared, and her unforgettable spirit will remain with all who knew and loved her forever. Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 1, 2026 in the Ocker-Putman Funeral Home of Van Buren, Arkansas with Jerome Thinner officiating. The song “Sisters” written by Taylor’s sister-in-law, Kayla Weelborg, was played along with “Scars in Heaven” by Casting Crowns, “My Jesus” by Anne Wilson and “Sissy’s Song” by Alan Jackson. Serving as escorts were Carroll Davis, Andrew Wiles, Joseph Weelborg, James M. Watkins, Tristan Philpot, and Darrel Dugger. Honorary escorts were Braxton Wiles and Colton Wiles. Burial followed in the Newberry Cemetery of Alma, Arkansas. Services and arrangements were under the care and direction of Memorial Chapels and Crematory of Waynesville / St. Robert. Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Taylor Dunn and may be left at Memorial Chapels and Crematory of Waynesville / St. Robert.
