Thomas John "Tom" Clutter

Thomas John Clutter, son of Michael Clutter and Carol Fay, was born June 30, 1978, in Hazel Crest, Illinois, and went home to be with his Lord on September 1, 2024, at his home with his wife, Tiffany Clutter, in Richland, Missouri, at the age of forty-six. On May 11, 2010, Tom was married to Tiffany Nicole Brandau, in Clearwater, Florida. They started their life together in Illinois, loving their families, riding the Harley, and creating lifelong friendships. Tom and Tiffany (TNT) moved to Missouri in 2021 to continue to build their life together. Together they enjoyed their new life in Missouri. Missouri brought out the best in Tom. This was his true home. Tom and Tiffany shared over fourteen years of love and laughter together as they walked through life hand in hand. Tom was a master builder and could build anything: fences, tables, bed frames - it just had to speak to him and when he finished it was always beautiful. He was an incredible leader at work and people enjoyed working for and with him. He was a master welder, fabricator and became an expert at his craft. Tom’s life was filled with the people and things he loved. Tom loved God’s creation– the water, the sky, the woods, the solitude of the early morning. He loved his pups Luna, Maxi, and Hanky. He was an excellent amateur photographer who captured the stunning beauty of the woods, river, nature, and dogs he loved. The river was his safe space. It calmed him. He loved to just park his truck near the river, start a fire, fish, kayak, and soak in the beauty. He loved his beautiful wife Tiffany unconditionally. Tom loved his people– family, friends, strangers! Honestly, Tommy didn’t know a stranger. He was a friend to all. He and Philip formed a close friendship and Philip stood by his side and supported him through these last very tough months. Tom was one of the kids at heart. He truly loved all of his nieces and nephews: Alexandra, Artemis, Jared, Isabella, Penelope, Isaac, Farrah, Brian, Dakota, Paige, Addison, Asher, and Jameson. Tom loved his Mom and Dad and brother and butthead (sister). He was an example of God’s grace and unconditional love. Tom made a profession of faith as a child and recommitted his life to Jesus in October of 2020. He was proud of the work God did in his life, restoring and renewing him. He loved Jesus and is living with Him now in heaven. In Tom’s own words, “Be still. Psalm 46:10. No matter what you face or how hard it gets, don’t forget to be still and know. Have faith. HE WILL see you through. His plans are not your plans but he knows what’s best for you. Do not fear, do not worry, do not be anxious, your life is in HIS hands. I’ve learned the hard way but I’ve learned. He has and will always protect me and help me and love me. So thankful for another day on this beautiful earth.” Tommy was truly a friend to all and leaves behind to cherish his memory, his loving and devoted wife, Tiffany Clutter of their home in Richland, Missouri; loving mother, Carol Fay, and her husband, John Fay of Gravois Mills, Missouri; brother, Michael Clutter and his wife, Lisa of Mokena, Illinois; sister, Angela Clutter Dau, of Manhattan, Kansas; mother-in-law, Marge Brandau of Manteno, Illinois; several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and a host of other relatives and many friends; and cherished dogs, Luna, Maxi, and Hank. He was preceded in death by his father, Michael Clutter, father-in-law, Edward Brandau, and sister-in-law, Tracy Brandau. Even though he is gone from our sight, Tom’s strong faith and commitment to his family and friends will live on in our hearts forever.
