Tom & Linda "Kay" Lynch

Thomas Garland Lynch, son of the late Swiggart Raymond and Mary Ruth (McColgan) Lynch, was born May 21, 1942 in Detroit, Michigan where he grew up until the age of 15. His family moved to the Richland / Stoutland area to be closer to Fort Leonard Wood. Linda Kay (Carroll) Lynch, daughter of the late Melvin Doral and Mildred Leola (Oursbourn) Carroll, was born December 19, 1945 in Stoutland, Missouri where she grew up and attended school On June 15, 1963, Tom and Kay were united in marriage in Richland, Missouri. They shared over 48 years together and many wonderful memories. Tom and Kay were blessed with two daughters: Kimberly and Christy. Tom was a hardworking and dependable employee. He worked for Detroit Tool and Dye for 43 years. In his spare time, he enjoyed being outdoors either hunting or fishing. He really enjoyed old tractors and going to tractor shows. He would take Kay every chance he could. Kay spent her time babysitting and taking care of not only her children, but others children as well. She enjoyed watching her granddaughter play softball and even when MacKenzie broke her leg and had to sit out the rest of the season, you would still find Kay at the games. In her spare time, Kay liked watching the birds and was a very good seamstress. She also enjoyed flowers and tending to her gardens. One thing that Tom and Kay enjoyed together was their grandchildren. They took great pride in watching them grow up and were so very proud of them. Tom and Kay had both made a very important decision in their lives and that was accepting Jesus Christ as their Savior. They were members of the Beulah Baptist Church of Richland. Tom passed away Friday, October 7, 2011 in his home and Kay followed him to their heavenly home Thursday, January 19, 2012. Tom had attained the age of 69 years and Kay had attained the age of 66 years. They will be sadly missed by all those that knew and loved them. Tom and Kay leave to cherish their memory their loving daughters: Kimberly Young (Kenny) of Richland, MO, Christy Adams (Bill) of Richland, MO; dear family friend: Crystal Gateley (Curt) of Ashland, MO; two granddaughters: Andrea Jeffries and MacKenzie Murphy both of Richland, MO; one grandson: Paul Adams of St. Robert, MO; Kay’s brother: Lyle Carroll (Sheila) of Stoutland, MO; Kay’s two sisters: Melva Shields (Mitch) of Stoutland, MO, and Connie Lowery (David) of Richland, MO; Kay’s foster sister: Ella Mae Theno (Bill) of the state of KS; Tom and Kay’s brother-in-law: Norman Smith of Richland, MO; Tom’s brothers: Bill Lynch & Richard (Marsha) Lynch all of Richland, MO; Harold Lynch (Virginia) Lynch of Roseville, MI. Tom was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers. Kay was preceded in death by Tom, her parents, and one sister. Services were held at 2:30 P.M., Monday, January 23, 2012 in Beulah Baptist Church of Richland, Missouri with Rev. Larry Atkins officiating. Special music selections included "Wish You WereHere" and "Amazing Grace". Serving as escorts were Paul Adams, Casey Biggers, Doug Scott, David Smith, Andy Lowery, Ricky Biggers and Matt Atkins. Burial followed in the Beulah Cemetery. Services were under the direction of Memorial Chapel of Richland.
