Trena Lynn Morgan

Trena began her life with her fraternal twin brother, Trent, in Hillsboro, Texas on July 11, 1957 to parents Betty and Arlis Payne. As a young child, her father, a Texas game warden, moved the family to the city of Anahuac (“AnaWhack”). It was here that Trena began to develop a love for animals. One of her fondest memories of all the creatures that her father brought home was that of an otter who would later become Trena’s bathtub playmate. Throughout the years, Trena’s family eventually relocated to the Dallas / Ft. Worth area where she would call Euless, Texas home. It was a warm sunny day in July of 1973 when Trena caught the sight of a bright colored sports car, a tiny Chihuahua, and a young man at the wheel. Her words, “I love that little dog Jerry Morgan!” rang out across the Seven Eleven parking lot. It was love at first sight. And she would soon fall for Jerry too. On August 18, 1973, just six weeks after this lightening romance, Trena Lynn Payne was united in holy matrimony to her soul-mate, Jerry Morgan. Immediately after their marriage, she would join her husband in continuing his locksmith business at Ft. Hood, Texas. Trena ran a mobile key shop driving around and setting up in parking lots. She would then make duplicate keys for $.35 each. Trena and her husband would eventually move to St. Robert, Missouri in 1976 with their new daughter, Julia. Upon arrival, the lock and key business was up and running from a small A-frame building on Marshall Drive. In April of 1979, the family was joined by fraternal twins, Jackie and Jennifer. Trena raised and cared for her children while also running the daily lock and key business. Trena became the pivot of the family and business as her husband worked well in to the late evenings. Soon they would rename the business from Morgan’s Lock & Key to Alarmco Security. Trena continued to remain very active in the office and their children became a working force of the business. Trena would in later years become known as “the tattooed key lady.” Her love of the Native American decorations would soon become a living part of her skin as she was well known for the colorful artwork. Trena will forever wear her art with pride. It has gained her awards from all over the nation and many publications bore her photos with international and State competition awards. In the past decade, Trena became an important part of the Lady Shriner’s of Pulaski County, Missouri and the Shrine Temple of Springfield, Missouri. She has served several offices to include President. She was very active in the support of helping the crippled and burned children and spent countless hours donating her time. Trena had survived cancer seven years ago and was a dedicated supporter in the fight to prevent and treat cancer. She is joined in her passing with another love in her life, Chelsey. Chelsey was her little Chihuahua that she had bottle fed and cared for since birth. And many in this community had seen her sitting upon Trena’s shoulder while driving down our streets and highways. Trena had grown so close to her pet that after it’s untimely death, she had expressed her wish to have Chelsey accompany her in her own passing. That wish shall now be fulfilled as the Lord above receives two precious creations that have filled other’s hearts with joy, love, and happiness.
