Wanda Lea Adkins

Wanda Lea (Tucker) Adkins, daughter of the late Bryan and Effie (Gan) Tucker, was born July 20, 1944 in Pulaski County, Missouri where she grew up and graduated from Richland High School Wanda was united in marriage to Berton A. Adkins and they were blessed with three sons: Berton W., Raymond and Roy. Wanda’s favorite place to work was Dollar General in Camdenton, Missouri. She started as a clerk and worked her way up to Assistant Manager. She loved meeting the people that came in and visiting with them. In her spare time, Wanda enjoyed fishing and bowling. She especially liked to work in her gardens and making jewelry for family and friends. Most importantly, she loved spending time wither her boys and grandchildren. As a young girl, Wanda made a profession of faith. She was currently a member of James River Church in Ozark, Missouri. Wanda went home to be with her Lord Thursday, December 10, 2015 in the Cox Regional Medal Center South of Springfield, Missouri having attained the age of 71 years. She will be sadly missed, but fondly remembered by all those that knew and loved her. Wanda leaves to cherish her memory, her husband: Bert Adkins of the home; three sons: Berton W. Adkins of Independence, MO, Raymond Adkins of Chesapeake, VA and Roy Adkins (Kelli) of Springfield, MO; seven grandchildren; Lance, Raiah, Titus, Anna, Kylee, David and Paul; four sisters: Melzona Wilson (Junior) of Waynesville, MO, Ima Logan of Fredericktown, MO, Lana Burgener of the state of Illinois and Judy Ogle of Waynesville, MO; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents, Wanda was preceded in death by two sisters: Juanita and Vada; and one brother: Roy. Services were held at 12:00 p.m. Monday, December 14, 2015 in the Memorial Chapels and Crematory of Waynesville / St. Robert with Pastor Mark Wright officiating. The songs “The Old Rugged Cross”, “Amazing Grace” and “Forever Yours” were played. Serving as escorts were Berton W. Adkins, Raymond B. Adkins, Roy L. Adkins, Derek L. Ogle, Titus D. Adkins, Tim Ogle, Jason Parey and Lance B. Adkins. Serving as honorary escorts were David A. Adkins, Mark Parrish, and Paul W. Adkins. Burial followed in the Missouri Veterans Cemetery of Waynesville, Missouri. Celebration of Life services were held at 12:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 15, 2015 in the James River Church-West Campus of Springfield, Missouri with Pastors Mark Wright and David Lindell officiating.
