William Kile Baier

William Kile Baier, the son of John and Lucille (Topping) Baier was born December 8, 1961 in Cleveland, Ohio. Bill, as he was best known by his family and friends grew up and attended school in Chatham, Ohio. He graduated from Cloverleaf High School in 1980. He later received his B.S. Degree in Recreational Studies from Samford University. Following Bill’s graduation from high school he enlisted into the United States Army. Bill completed 3 years of honorable service to our country. Bill worked as a physical fitness instructor and later found his true calling, working as a Youth Sports Director in support of the children of our active duty military. Bill worked for over 23 years in this position both in Hawaii and at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri where he was currently employed. While in the Fort Leonard Wood Area, Bill met the love of his life, Traci Hayes. Bill and Traci shared many interests and hobbies including their church home of Grace Covenant Christian Center where he and Traci were members. Bill had a great passion for life, he cherished his time that could be spent riding his motorcycle, golfing, fishing, hunting or taking long leisurely walks with Traci. Bill was a very devoted brother, uncle and friend, he treasured the times that he could spend with his family. Bill went to be with his Lord, Monday August 2, 2010 at the General Leonard Wood Army Community Hospital, Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri at the age of 48 years. He is survived by his siblings: Nyra Klinect of LaGrange, OH, Darrell Baier of St. Clair Shores, MI and Carol Baier of Kuttauwa, KY; his fiancé: Traci Hayes of St. Robert, MO; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends. He is preceded in death his parents and older brother Charles Baier. Local visitation was held from 4:00 – 7:00 P.M. Friday, August 6, 2010 in the Memorial Chapels and Crematory of Waynesville/St. Robert. Visitation was held from 9:00 A.M. until time of service at 11:00 A.M. Monday, August 9, 2010 in the funeral home. Funeral services were held at 11:00 A.M. Monday, August 9, 2010 in the Waite and Son Funeral Home of Medina, OH. Burial with military honors followed in the Friendsville Cemetery of Westfield Township, OH. Services are under the direction of Waite and Son Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Bill Baier to the Grace Covenant Christian Center – The Ark Building Fund and may be sent to Memorial Chapels and Crematory, 202 Historic 66 West, Waynesville, MO 65583.
