David Earl Henry

David Earl Henry, one of 14 children born to the late Virgil Roy Henry and Mae Bell (Brown) Harmon Henry was born January 13, 1960 in Waynesville, Missouri, and was brought home to the family farm in Richland, where he was raised and attended school graduating with the RHS Class of 78. David was happy and proud to have been chosen to attend Boys State in Warrensburg, Missouri. When David was younger, he was saved and followed in baptism at Grace Baptist Church in Richland, Missouri during Vacation Bible School. David worked in a glass shop, and briefly in the oil fields in Texas before being hired as a Rural Carrier with the United States Postal Service; a career that lasted for thirty years until his retirement. When David wasn’t working, he greatly enjoyed hunting, fishing, floating on the river, arrowhead hunting, and being outdoors. David loved his life, family and friends and had no desire to venture far from his hometown of Richland where he lived out his life until he left the worries, and troubles of this world behind on the morning of Thursday, July 4, 2024 in Richland, Missouri, having attained the age of sixty-four years. He is preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Lucy Pauline Henry, eight brothers, John Jake Henry, Roy Henry, Lonnie Henry, Richard Henry, Charles Jr. Henry, Jerry Wayne “Peach” Henry, Leonard “Stymie” Henry, and Eddie Dean Henry. David leaves behind to cherish his memory, three sisters, Gloria Holloway (Robert) of Richland, Virginia Graves (Danny) of Laquey, MO, and Katie Sanders (Donnie) of Richland, MO; one brother, Terry Henry of Richland, MO; his former wife and friend, Denna Wilson of Richland, MO; two sisters-in-law: Lavonne Henry and Shirley Henry both of Richland, MO; a number of nieces and nephews, other relatives, and friends. David loved spending time with his family and friends whom he considered his treasures. He enjoyed having fun, and making people laugh. David leaves behind a lifetime of wonderful memories that will be remembered by those David loved and who loved him. Services were held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, July 12, 2024, with Pastor Danny Graves officiating. The songs “Yesterday When I Was Young,” “Like A Rock”, “Go Rest High On that Mountain” and “Amazing Grace” were played. Mark Howlett, Terry Henry, Mike Webster, Andrew Smith, Neil Warren, and Bill Warren, served as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers included Bruce Warren, Billy Hankins, and Joey Martin. Burial followed in the Oaklawn Cemetery of Richland, MO. Services were under the care and direction of Memorial Chapel of Richland.
