Mary Gladys (Mackney) Posten

Mary Gladys Posten went home to God on the morning of Tuesday, April 4, 2022, at her home in Richland, surrounded by the family she loved so dearly having attained the age of seventy-four. Mary was born February 3, 1948, in Crocker, Missouri to Clarence and Bertha Fern (Woody) Mackney. Mary grew up and went to school there, graduating from Crocker High School in 1965. Mary made a profession of faith and was a member of New Friendship Baptist Church. Upon graduation Mary went to work at H.D. Lee Company in Richland, Missouri as a sewing machine operator where she worked for 23 years before leaving to go and work briefly at Precision Cut in Richland. While working for the Lee plant Mary met her husband, Freddie Dale Posten and the two were married on June 27, 1968 in Richland, Missouri. Together they shared over 46 years together before “Fred’s passing on November 3, 2015. Mary and Fred loved one another deeply and soon their home was blessed by God with the births of their precious children, Curt, Kellie, and Chad. Mary always adorned a big smile. She loved people and always enjoyed visiting with her family, friends, and neighbors. She loved bon fires, having family get-togethers, going out to eat, or just taking a relaxing car ride through the countryside. Mary was most proud of her children and grandchildren and loved spending time and taking care of them and her home; still finding time to enjoy quilting and crochet. She is preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband, Fred Posten, and sister, Joan Protz. Mary leaves behind to cherish her memory three children: Curt Lynn Posten (Terrie) of Richland, MO, Kellie Dale Hosna (Brian) of Lebanon, MO, and Chad Martin Posten (Tawnya) of Richland, MO; 8 grandchildren: Kayla Mullins (Bert), Shawna Robinson (Layne), Derrick Posten, Taylor Posten, Devon Blair, Mackenzie Blair, Tatiana Nekola (Nick) and Kolbe Posten; 9 great grandchildren; three brothers: Earl Mackney (Karen) of Richland, MO, Everett Mackney of Medicine Lodge, KS, and Leonard Mackney (Peggy)of Readyville, TN; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Mary’s presence will be greatly missed here on earth however, the joy she experienced when greeted by her Lord and Savior along with getting to see Fred again is cause for us to celebrate Mary going home. Services were held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, April 9, 2022, in the Memorial Chapel of Richland with Rev. Perry Ward officiating.
