Charles Everett Vess, Jr.

Charles Everett Vess, Jr., son of Charles “Chuck” Everett and Anita Eileen (Pratt) Vess, was born October 9, 1963 in Fort Belvoir, Virginia. He passed away Monday, January 28, 2019 in his home having attained the age of fifty-five years. As a young boy, Charles attended Laquey R-V School and then graduated from Junction City High School in Junction City, Kansas. During his school years, Charles was a member of the Boy Scouts of America. After graduation, Charles worked as an auto mechanic before becoming employed with the Lebanon R-III School District in Lebanon, Missouri. In his spare time, Charles enjoyed doing puzzles. To say he was a huge Green Bay Packers football fan and NASCAR Jeff Gordon fan, would be an understatement. He loved both of these sports and enjoyed watching them and cheering on his favorite teams. Charles loved his family and he will be sadly missed by all those who knew and loved him. He leaves to cherish his memory, his parents: Charles “Chuck” and Anita Vess of Waynesville, MO; four siblings: Deborah (Larry) Vess Brown of Waynesville, MO, Mark Vess of Lebanon, MO, Janet (Gary) Kubisiak of Dyersburg, TN and Zernie (Dani) Vess of Nixa, MO; five children: Brett (Sara) Vess of Springfield, MO, Tamra (Michael) Freeman of Lebanon, MO, JoAnn Lewis of the State of Texas, Tiffany (Raymond) Wells of the state of Pennsylvania and Charles “Ryan” Vess of Lebanon, MO; twelve grandchildren: Caden Alan Vess, Braxton Alan Vess, Zakariah Dean Freeman, Abigail Judy Kaye Freeman, Mykalyn Leona Freeman, Kayson Michael Burge, Dominic Joe Charles Lewis, Rose Marie Lorann Lewis, Conner Felix Goad, Roland Todd Goad, Alivia Rae Dawn Wells and Jude Leighton Enos; other relatives and friends. Even though he is gone from our sight, his memory will live on in our heart forever. Funeral services were held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 5, 2019 in the Memorial Chapels and Crematory of Waynesville / St. Robert with Pastor Danny Graves officiating. “Amazing Grace” and “Go Rest High on that Mountain” were played. Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Charles Vess, Jr. to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation and may be left at the funeral home.
