Debra Sue Hake

Debra Sue Hake, daughter of Henry Neal and Lois Helen (Berger) Huttsell, was born September 13, 1956 in Mexico, Missouri. She passed away Tuesday, October 1, 2013 in her home after a courageous battle with cancer. Debra grew up in Mexico and graduated from Mexico High School in 1974. She furthered her education at Drury University and earned her Associate Degree in 2006. While Debra attended school, she met the love of her life, Ronald James Hake, after he tried to run over her with a farm truck. They were married on June 1, 1980 at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri. They shared over 33 years of marriage together and were blessed with two children: Justin and Christina. Due to Ronald being a military man, Debra and the family moved with him every time he was transferred. She worked at various places in administrative positions over the years. In her spare time, Debra enjoyed scrapbooking, card making, reading, and loved going on cruises. The one thing she treasured most was spending time with her grandchildren. She enjoyed watching them play and just being with them. She was a wonderful daughter, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She will be sadly missed by all those that knew and loved her. Debra leaves to cherish her memory her husband: Ronald James Hake of the home; one son: Justin Hake of Sherwood, AR; one daughter: Christina Hake of Crocker, MO; her mother: Helen Huttsell of Mexico, MO; one sister: Linda Kay Huttsell Reid of Mexico, MO; three grandchildren: Garrett Wayne Hake, Cadynce Marie Hake and Braeson Kahle Hake; other relatives and friends. Debra was preceded in death by her father: Henry Neal Huttsell and one sister-in-law: Debbie Ann Smith. Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, October 4, 2013 in the Memorial Chapels and Crematory of Waynesville / St. Robert with Rev. Danny Graves officiating. The songs “Old Rugged Cross”, “Amazing Grace” and “In the Garden” were played. Serving as escorts were Michael Sutter, Jonathan Sutter, Nathan Buchmeier, Brian Buchmeier, Brandt Patterson and Kevin Patrick. Burial followed in the Missouri Veterans Cemetery – Fort Leonard Wood. Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Debra Hake to the Small Cell Cervical Cancer Fund and may be left at the funeral home.
