Jimmie Lee Silvers

Jimmie Lee Silvers, beloved son of the late Albert Silvers and Mildred (Lockwood) Silvers, was born on July 21, 1945, in Kansas City, Missouri. He spent his younger years growing up in the Kansas City area, where he built the foundation of a life marked by kindness, independence, and a genuine care for others. Jimmie graduated from high school with the Class of 1964. Soon after graduation, Jimmie answered the call to serve his country by entering the United States Air Force. He served faithfully and honorably until his discharge in 1968, carrying with him the pride, discipline, and devotion that reflected his character. Following his military service, Jimmie began a career in high-end men’s clothing retail. He took pride in his work and truly enjoyed the people he met along the way. Whether helping a client find just the right look or sharing friendly conversation, Jimmie had a way of making others feel welcomed and valued. Jimmie cherished his independence, not only for the freedom it gave him, but also because it allowed him to stay active in the causes and communities that mattered to him. He found joy in helping others and volunteering with different organizations. He also enjoyed going to the gym and was a proud member of Toastmasters, where his outgoing spirit and gift for conversation could shine. Above all, Jimmie loved his family deeply. He shared a especially close bond with his niece, Kricket, whom he lovingly considered the child he never had. That relationship was one of the great joys of his life and reflected the tenderness and loyalty he carried for those closest to him. Jimmie passed away on Monday, August 17, 2026, at Country Manor of La Mesa in La Mesa, California. His passing leaves a deep absence in the lives of those who knew and loved him, but his memory will remain a source of comfort, gratitude, and love. Jimmie leaves to cherish his memory his niece, Kricket Webster and her husband, Robert, of Crocker, Missouri; his nephew, Sean Westerman of Huntsville, Alabama; his sister, Karen Westerman of Rolla, Missouri; his brother, Gene Silvers; four nieces and nephews, Cordero Barba, Savanna Barba, Christopher Webster, and Brittany Pearson; several great-nieces and great-nephews; along with other relatives and many friends who were blessed to know him. Though Jimmie is no longer with us in sight, the love he gave so freely, the kindness he shared, and the generous spirit he carried will live on in the hearts of his family and friends forever. Funeral services were held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 2, 2026, in the Memorial Chapels and Crematory of Waynesville / St. Robert. Burial with military honors followed in the Missouri Veterans Cemetery of Waynesville, MO. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Memorial Chapels and Crematory of Waynesville / St. Robert. Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Jimmie Silvers and may be left at Memorial Chapels and Crematory of Waynesville / St. Robert.
