Julia Renee (Hillian) Godfrey

Julia Renee (Hillian) Godfrey, daughter of Ronald Elmer and Shirley Jean (Hatfield) Hillian, was born May 12, 1975 in Rolla, Missouri. She passed away Sunday, April 13, 2014 in the General Leonard Wood Army Community Hospital of Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri. Julia grew up in the Waynesville and St. Robert area all of her life. She attended the Waynesville R-VI School District from Kindergarten all the way through high school and graduated from Waynesville High School in 1993. On December 15, 1995 in St. Robert, Missouri, Julia was united in marriage to Nikia Jay Godfrey. They shared over 18 years together and were blessed with three boys: Thomas Jay, James Rae and Jason Paul. Julia worked for a few years at a small produce store and then became a stay at home wife and mom. She enjoyed taking care of her family and raising her boys. Her last few years, she worked as an apartment cleaner for Bell’s Extended Stay. In her spare time, Julia enjoyed making things such as plastic key chains, or rubber wrist bands, and Bandaloom bracelets. She loved going for rides on the motorcycle with Nikia and she was also very talented in taking a plain ordinary picture and spicing it up with graphics, smart quotes or goofy faces. Most importantly, she loved and treasured spending time with her family and friends. Julia will be sadly missed, but fondly remembered by all those that knew and loved her. She leaves to cherish her memory, her husband: Nikia Godfrey of the home; three sons: Thomas Jay Godfrey, James Rae Godfrey, and Jason Paul Godfrey, all of the home; two siblings: Michael Hillian and Shelia Godfrey, both of St. Robert, MO; father and mother-in-law: Edwin and Billie Godfrey of St. Robert, MO; grandmother: Velma Hatfield of St. Robert, MO; cousins: Richard Hatfield and Robert Mowry; nieces and nephews: Natasha Hillian, Alex Godfrey, Aaron Godfrey, Gracia and Dustin (George) Mowry, Mia Hillian, Lowgun Hillian, Nicholas HIllian and Jordan; other relatives and a host of friends. Julia was preceded in death by her mother: Shirley Jean (Hatfield) Hillian on February 19, 2004. Graveside services were held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, April 21, 2014 in the Missouri Veterans Cemetery of Waynesville. Serving as escorts were Aaron Fetterhoff, Troy Mowery, Tony Fetterhoff, Danny McHugh, Tommy Arnold, Tito Godfrey and Mike Davis. Services were under the direction of Memorial Chapels and Crematory of Waynesville / St. Robert. Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Julia Godfrey and may be left at the funeral home.
