Margaret Bauder

Margaret Bauder was born July 10, 1925 in Lillington, North Carolina and passed away at 3:55 A.M. Tuesday, December 29, 2009 in the St. John’s Regional Medical Center of Lebanon, Missouri. She had attained the age of 84 years, 5 months and 19 days. Margaret grew up in Lillington, North Carolina and graduated from high school. At an early age, she was baptized and attended the Presbyterian Church. On May 9, 1942, Margaret was united in marriage to Richard James Bauder. They shared over 49 years of marriage together and were blessed with three children: Richard James, Jr., Brenda and John Frank Bauder. During her working years, Margaret was employed in food service. She was a hard worker and took great pride in providing for her family. In her spare time, she enjoyed being outdoors working in her garden, tending to her flowers and watching the hummingbirds. She was a wonderful cook and when she was able, she enjoyed playing Bingo. She was a member of the Francis J. Lynch VFW Post 3168 Ladies Auxiliary. Margaret was a very giving lady and was known for her volunteer work. In fact, just this year, Peter Kinder, Lieutenant Governor of the state of Missouri, came and presented a plaque to Margaret honoring her for her many years of volunteer work. Since 1991, she has accompanied her daughter to work five days a week to help at the school. She helped with many Kiwanis dinners and breakfasts, packed the football teams’ lunches, just to name a few. She will be greatly missed, but fondly remembered by all those that knew and loved her. Margaret is survived by two children: Brenda Scheetz and her husband Chuck of St. Robert, MO and John Frank Bauder and his wife Gail of Denton, TX; three grandchildren: Shanon Hawk, Chrissie Clanton and Joanne Moody; three great grandchildren: Johnathan Daniel and Samantha Lyn Clanton and Nathan James Moody; other relatives and a host of friends. Margaret was preceded in death by her mother: Frances (Collins) McCoy; her husband: Richard Bauder; one son: Richard, Jr.; and three brothers: Dylan, Mac and Lawrence. Funeral services were held at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, December 31, 2009 in the Memorial Chapels and Crematory with Rev. Danny Graves officiating. Margaret’s daughter, Brenda recalled her wonderful memories of her mother. Soloist Becky Lercher sang “One Day At A Time”, “Ten Thousand Angels” and “Amazing Grace”. Serving as escorts were Jim Stockmann, Duane Doyle, Richard McKinnon, Mark House, David Alexander and Leo Gladden. Serving as honorary escorts was Richard McClain, Gary Young, Kenneth Lewis and Charles Pointer. Burial followed in the Waynesville Memorial Park Cemetery. Services were under the direction of Memorial Chapels and Crematory. Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Margaret Bauder and may be left at Memorial Chapels and Crematory.
