Ray Holdman

Ray Holdman departed this life the morning of Sunday, November 11, 2012, in the Mercy Hospital of Lebanon, Missouri, at the age of 72 years, 5 months and 21 days. Ray was born May 21, 1940, in Sikeston, Missouri. He was one of two sons born to the union of Harrold and Elmina Marie (Thrower) Holdman. When Ray was about four, his family moved to the Stoutland area. He was a graduate of Richland High School. On August 29, 1958 Ray married the love of his life, Linda Rae York. God blessed the couple with more than 54 years of love, joy, and four precious children: Jon Mark, Alan Scot, Raetta Lorene and Kenyon Eric. "Ray enjoyed teaching Sunday School at Richland Methodist Church and being with the children." Ray worked at P&P Lumber Yard in St. Robert, as well as, working along side his grandfather, doing various carpentry jobs. He later worked at Wyeth Hardware, as a traveling salesman in St. Joseph, Missouri, working the northwest central areas of Missouri. He decided to open up a bait shop next to their home, later adding sporting goods to the business. Ray had an adventurous spirit, and in the early seventies, Ray decided to open Gunrunner Gun & Saddle Co. He loved spending time outdoors, going to the river, working in the shop, and hunting for mushroom. Ray especially loved spending time with his family and friends. Ray was dearly loved, and will be very sadly missed by his loving wife: Linda Holdman of the home; 3 children: Jon Mark Holdman (Tina) of Wheatridge, CO, Raetta Holdman Webster of Denver, CO, and Kenyon Eric Holdman (Colleen) of Medina, OH; grandchildren: Elias Flint Holdman (Brittney Lee), Rachel Annis Holdman, Perea Elisabeth Webster, Davis Selby Webster, Kenyon Alexander Holdman, Kathryn Allison Holdman and Ryan Fitzpatrick Scot Holdman; his step-father: Dillard Marshall Iseley of Tulsa, OK; Ray was preceded in death by his parents, one son: Alan Scot Holdman, and his brother: Jon Harrold Holdman. A visitation service was held from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, November 13, 2012 in the Memorial Chapel of Richland with speaker Wayne Anderson officiating. Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Ray Holdman to the Care to Learn Fund and may be left at the Memorial Chapel of Richland.
