Warren William Decker

Warren William Decker, son of the late Roscoe Edmond Decker and Evalyn Olive (Carroll) Decker, was born on July 11, 1962, in Waynesville, Missouri. Warren grew up in Richland, Missouri where he attended school, later earning his GED. He attended the Assembly of God church in Richland but also attended church at the Rafter S Arena Cowboy Church in Lebanon, Missouri, it was there Warren found God and was saved. Warren made a living driving anything bigger than a car. He owned and operated his own excavating business, hauled boats, and hauled feed; just to name a few. There was no limit to what he could do. When he wasn’t working, Warren greatly enjoyed riding horses. There wasn’t a horse he was afraid to break. He was so happy doing anything outdoors like fishing, hunting, shooting, and racing anything that had wheels. Warren had a keen eye for seeing a horseshoe and being able to cut and weld it into a piece of art that many have been able to enjoy. A perfect Saturday for him would be spending the day at the American Legion in Richland at the Turkey Shoot and conversing with friends. Above all, Warren loved his family and that is what kept him going. They take comfort in knowing that he is now catching Jamie up on all that went on while she has been gone. Warren passed away on the morning of Thursday, June 26, 2025, at home in Richland, Missouri, having attained the age of sixty-two. He is survived by his loving companion, Julie Roe of Richland, MO; his four beautiful daughters, Brandi Decker (Erica) of Osage Beach, MO, Theresa Flores (Garrett) of Richland, MO, Melissa Moore (Steven) of Eldon, MO, and Lisa Leffert (Allen) of Richland, MO; 10 grandchildren, Peyton, Megan, John Robert, Bryce, Brook, Eli, Mia, Nella, Connor, and Tristian; 8 great-grandchildren, Kreece, Layken, Jaxson, Gatlyn, Mabel, Benny, Liam, and one on the way! (All of which probably received their first spankings from him...because as we all know his first words to each was “has he/she had a spanking yet”); 3 siblings, Donald Decker (Sarah) of Richland, MO, Janice Lucas (Alan) of England, and Jacquetha Owens (Craig) of Jacksonville, FL; several nieces, nephews, and a host of other relatives, and friends who will forever cherish his memory. Warren was preceded in death by his parents, Roscoe Edmond Decker (2000) and Evalyn Olive (Carroll) Decker-Sprucebank (2022), and his beloved daughter, Jamie Lynn Decker (1998). It has been said that Warren never met a stranger. He was a man of many talents and hobbies, which makes it hard to sum up a man’s life in just a few short sentences. Although he had a life full of treasured memories and many adventures, he suffered a great loss during his life and because of that, he was the kind of guy who found satisfaction and joy in the simple things in life, was willing to lend a helping hand to his friends and neighbors, but most of all, following that loss, he loved his family more fiercely than ever. As we say goodbye to Warren, we are forever grateful for the time we shared with him. May we find comfort in knowing that his spirit will live on in the hearts and lives of those he touched. He will be dearly missed, gone, but never forgotten until we meet again. A graveside service for family and friends was held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, July 12, 2025, at the Oaklawn Cemetery of Richland, Missouri. Warren’s brother Donald shared a few words with those in attendance. Other family and friends also shared special memories of Warren. Arrangements were entrusted to the Memorial Chapel of Richland.
